In a recent worldwide survey, Denmark ranked among the top three happiest countries on this planet. There are 155 countries on the list, and Denmark has been gaining this honor for 7 consecutive years. The title does not necessarily mean the lowest criminal rate in the world; nor is Denmark's national income the highest; in effect the Danes have to pay the highest taxes in the world. Danes, nevertheless, do boast a high-level satisfaction with their lives. The Danes are always satisfied with everything around them. They even coined a special word "h-y-g-g-e", which is pronounced as "/haig/" in Danish, whose meaning is close to that of English words "cozy", "contentment", and "safe" combined together. Imagine spending a cold evening by the furnace with your family and your intimate friends, and that is how the word feels!
